How much Google's AI Overview citations change from one day to the next
For the search "ai agents for construction", captured once a day on three profiles from October 7 to 29, 2026, Google showed an AI Overview in 68 of 69 results pages. 4 domains were cited on each of the 23 days: youtube.com, linkedin.com, cmicglobal.com and alicetechnologies.com. 46 domains were cited at least once, 14 of them in a single overview. The two US profiles, desktop and mobile, cited exactly the same domains on 20 of 22 days. The France profile never matched either, and its own set was never the same two days running.
One query, three profiles, one capture a day each. "Overlap" is the share of domains two overviews have in common, out of all the domains either one cited: 100% means the same set.

miragemetrics.com was cited in 1 of the 68 overviews: on October 27, 2026, on the France profile, for the page /construction. Method
The captures are those of the companion study: one DataForSEO SERP API request a day per profile (Google organic, live, advanced mode, 20 results deep, AI Overview loaded) for United States in English on desktop, United States in English on mobile, and France with English-language results on desktop. "ai agents for construction" is the query Mirage has tracked longest, since October 7, 2026: 69 captures to October 29, 2026, 68 with an AI Overview (the one without was United States, desktop, October 7, 2026).
A URL is cited when it is in the overview's source list, for the whole answer or one of its blocks, or behind a numbered citation link in its text. Comparisons are made on registrable domains (www. and m. removed, blogs.oracle.com counted as oracle.com), one per overview: two overviews citing different pages of one domain count as citing the same domain.
Overlap between two overviews is the number of domains both cite divided by the number of domains either cites (the Jaccard index). A day without an overview on a profile drops the pairs it belongs to.
Every figure on this page is computed by a script from the dataset below. None is typed by hand.
Limits
One query. Another query, even close, can behave differently: the companion study shows each query citing its own set of domains.
One capture per profile and day is one sample. A same-day difference between two profiles may come from the profile or from the moment of the request; this dataset cannot separate the two.
Domains, not pages or wording. Two overviews citing the same domains can cite different pages and say different things.
The captures are what DataForSEO's crawler received from Google, not what a particular person saw.
Mirage is an interested party: it publishes a page for this query and changed it during the period.
Dataset
The file holds every capture of the five queries from October 7 to 29, 2026, which covers both studies: 177 captures, 1,887 rows. One row per cited URL per capture, and one row for a capture without an AI Overview. CSV, UTF-8, comma separated. This study uses the rows where query is "ai agents for construction".
